My Day With Veronica Chail

The countdown has begun to find the perfect dress for Veronica to wear to an exclusive event she is hosting this Friday called "Chiva's Regal and Shanu & Karim Present The Black Affair" November 19th 2010 at Liberty Grand.

With being less then a week away from her stroll down the red carpet, I set up appointments with some of Canada's best design talent to helps us get ready for this media covered party.

Our first stop today was a visit with Nada ( nadadesigns.com ). Arriving at her showroom at 4PM, we are greeted by the designer herself and Laura (the girl that's helping us arrange the pull from the showroom) and we were quickly instructed to dig in to the enormous amount of racks in the showroom, housing some of the most amazing pieces from her collection. Let's just say I drooled most of the way through it!

Finally selecting eight different dresses, we headed to the fitting room to see how our choices looked on Veronica.

The first is a beautiful above knee jersey dress with a soft embellished round neck line, which looked impeccable on her, especially once we asked the showroom for a piece of black satin that I quickly whipped into a ruffled japanese obi belt, which brought this number to life. We bounced we squealed, and moved on to try the other pieces we had selected.

Now I'd like to tell you about each of the dresses we saw today, but there is only so much work my thumbs can do pounding the keys of my blackberry lol, but I will offer a few more prime descriptions of some of the other breath taking pieces Veronica tried on.

Because Veronica wanted a style that was very Alexander McQueen, she slipped in to two adventurous styles, to get her used to wearing statement making clothing.

The loudest dress we tried on was a gorgeous raccoon fur dress in a luscious fuchsia colour with precise grommets placed around the lower trim of the dress. Pretty, but overwhelming to our beautiful host.

Next up, was a gold hand sewn metal circles cocktail dress. The metal circles was an unbelievable option for the gala event, the only downside is that, the metallic circles (which resembled a musical instrument that any music lover would know, the symbol). Now imagine hundreds of little symbols clanging together as you move in the dress, now imagine holding a microphone to do interviews... Way to much sound!!! Even just in the showroom you could hear the clang at the opposite end, so as much as we would loved to have worn this, the noise factor pushed it into the eliminated section of our rolling rack. Stunning piece tho!

Needless to say, we found our number one dress with Nada today, but we still have several appointments to make our way through before making our final decision on what she will wear.

Of course these details will not be hitting my blog til the night of the event.

Stay tuned!

Much love <3
