Bill Lavin - Belt Designer - California

Recently Devo Brown (Kiss 92.5) and I had a chance to speak with the legend himself, so honoured.

Bill shared with us the story of how he fell in love with his art form, by pulling inspiration from life's adventures.

From a Fender approved guitar belt to his world renowned skulls, which Lavin hand picks from hundreds of different styles until he finds the one that speaks to him.

A gentle genuine spirit, plus his ability to make superior high quality belts, which attract celebrity clientele from all over the world.

EZRA CONSTATINE - WORLD MASTERCARD FASHION WEEK - TORONTO

Finally had the chance to catch the Ezra Constantine show, and I have to say it was well worth the wait!

Design duo Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong (also known for their women's label Greta Constantine) did a kick ass job with their F/W 2013 collection.

Besides the amazing attention to detail, and the in your face styling, I loved how they started their show with a finale style intro, and delivered edge, fit and status for style driven men.  All while holding firmly on to masculinity, strength and diversity.

If buyers were informed that only the pieces in the show would be made available for sale (as in just the runway samples, no reproductions) it would be an all out war to get as much of it as they could. #justsayin

COLOUR BLOCKING FOR SPRING SUMMER - STARTING WITH BLUE

You may or may not know this, but spring is becoming a breeding ground for all things colour... and now is the season to start making good use of those bright neon colours your tucked away a few years back.  Everything from bright eye aching yellows, to primary reds and greens will be available everywhere. 

Now the thing to remember is, what shoe's to wear with it??  Below are a few examples of ways you can do this trend day or night, the choice is really up to you.

KORHANI HOME - WORLD MASTERCARD FASHION WEEK - TORONTO

I have to say since Korhani came on board to do fashion week a year and a bit ago, I couldn't have been more excited.

The first time I saw their show was when they did an homage to Alice in Wonderland, it was mind blowing how they were able to take something you normally find on the floor, now being made in to couture fashion and stomping its way down fashion week runways.

This season I felt the collection really captured an Asian meets Himalayan mountain climbers with a touch of story teller folklore.  But it's this scene illustrated in the picture that I felt was a moment out of a better dressed version of Eyes Wide Shut, that had caught the attention of every fashion goer there.



Congrats Korhani home, and thank you for pushing us to see creativity on a whole other level.

By far one on my favourite from the London collection of design talent. Westwood offers a hard shape done with a soft palette which helps place these beautiful collection into the willing hands of buyers around the globe.

Plaids to berry coloured tights and misplaced buttons keep true to the unexpected detailing of a solid Westwood collection.

MARTIN LIM - WORLD MASTERCARD FASHION WEEK - TORONTO

This was an impressive collection by Lim, keeping a very clean and muted monochromatic tone flowing throughout the show. Knowing he was designing for F/W season, every bit of skin got covered up, while creating simplistic depth with cut outs and squared off unfinished hems.

This collection says, "get noticed, without screaming for attention"
