As many of you may already be aware, that RK is officially closing its doors by March 1rst 2009. For those of you that have enjoyed this line, now is the time to step in, clear their racks and fill your closet.
An email sent to me a few days ago indicated a mad crazy "Get this shit out of the store" sale where everything, and I do mean everything is, wait for it... wait for it... $10.00 all coats, suits, pants, dresses, you name it, its ten bucks. Even your closet watcher boyfriends and husbands couldn't say no to just a few more things.
However, at a sale like this... i would not recommend leaving your house without some kind of protection... i know what women are capable when its the last one in size. Leave nothing behind, for you can always store it and pass it on to someone as a lovely bday present.
So get off this blog, and into RK, before someone takes that piece you've been eying.
Much love
Dale

Without Fear, Spring Is Here
With the fright of the recession lingering over our pocketbooks, our want to restrain our spending has been addressed by all the top designers ranging from New York to Paris and Milan. Designers are washing out darkness from their collections and leaving the shapes of hard lines behind. Many of these high profile makers of style want you to see the light at the end of the tunnel. In recognition, many houses are turning to bold punchy colours, playful prints and translucent textiles, to invite shoppers to consciously splurge on spring/summer fashions.
Without having to resort to feeding your kids Kraft dinner for the next few weeks just to get that “one more thing” is knowing what to buy, being aware of the purchases you’ve made, and to set yourself a seasonal budget, then sticking with it! In my attempt to help you achieve this, here is what to plan for.
First let’s start with shoes. Heels this season are higher than ever before, we’re talking five to six inches with artistic finishes and futuristic details. For those of you that spend all day in your shoes, it’s more than acceptable to slip into a comfy pair of flats and still be in fashion; however they should adorn some kind of embellishments like pretty girl bows and ribbons or tier upon tier straps reaching as far up the calf as humanly possible.
Dresses have a certain exotic understated prettiness, made of raw silks with floral prints and are full of movement and unstructured fluidity, finished with industrious zippers and cinched at the waist with the ever classic Japanese obi belt. This look can easily be worn for both day and night time excursions, getting you more out of your fashion dollar.
For the first time in a long time, head to toe “designer-ism” is graciously being accepted this season, with that said and by purchasing from one retailer, quite often you can haggle with them to give you a bit of a discount for buying multiple items, once again stretching that dollar.
